Succulent Sweet and Sour Chicken
9 boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut up in cubes)
1 1/2 corn starch
1 red pepper cubed
1 orange Pepper cubed
1 yellow pepper cubed
3 eggs (beaten)
salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp soya sauce
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 cups sugar
2 tsp garlic salt
each of a red, yellow and orange pepper cubed
Put chicken into a large mixing bowl and toss with a little salt and pepper.
Toss chicken in corn starch then in the beaten egg.
Fry chicken until golden brown (doesn’t have to be cooked all the way through).
Place chicken into a greased 9 by 13 baking dish and set to the side.
Dump all ingredients into a large bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
Pour sauce over the chicken and place in the oven at 325F.
Stir every 15 minutes for the next 60 minutes
*If you find the sauce is not as thick as you would like feel free to add a little thickener to it before taking it out of the oven. We usually do a couple table spoons of cornstarch to a cup of cold water. Make sure to mix until well combined. Add a small amount each time until you get the desired consistency wanted.
